Placid Waters
Counselling & Psychotherapy
Hello, I'm Raeleen and I'd be honoured to walk alongside you
I am passionate about mental health and wellbeing and committed to supporting people on their personal journeys. I hold a Master of Counselling and am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with the Australian Counselling Association.

My approach is warm, client-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally humble while always respecting each person's autonomy, values, and lived experience. With a special interest in mental health counselling and working with people from diverse backgrounds, I use evidence-based practices to help clients build self-awareness, emotional regulation, practical coping skills, and resilience while nurturing a stronger sense of self-worth, self-compassion, and belonging.

As a therapist, my personal experience has helped to deepen my empathy for others and understanding of the many layers that can affect mental health. I genuinely believe that through compassionate, collaborative work in a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space, meaningful and sustainable change is possible. Together, we can uncover your strengths, explore new perspectives, and take steps towards a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling for you.

Common Questions
What Services Are Offered?
At Placid Waters, therapy is shaped around you offering a safe, supportive space to explore whatever you're going through. Whether it's anxiety and stress, low mood, grief and loss, loneliness and isolation, infertility, or support for life challenges, therapy is tailored to your needs and situation.
How Can I Schedule an Appointment?
Taking the first step can feel big, and I aim to make it as easy as possible for you. You can book your session right away using the Book Now button, or if you prefer, call or email me and we can find a time that works best. I'll confirm your appointment, or if needed, offer alternative options.

Life can be busy, so I'm happy to offer after-hours sessions where possible, making it easier for you to access the support you need. Once your appointment is confirmed, I'll send you a Zoom link so everything is ready for our session.
What Happens During a Therapy Session?
In our sessions, you'll find a safe, confidential space where you are heard. I take time to understand your concerns and what matters most to you. Together, we'll explore your experiences, consider new perspectives, and work towards healing, growth and the changes you hope to see in your life.

I acknowledge the Bunurong people of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which I am fortunate enough to live and work today. Their wisdom and cultural heritage have enriched this place for countless generations, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow here. I honour their stories, traditions and contributions, and I commit to walking alongside them with humility, respect, and understanding.
